They're pleated and switch from chocolate brown in natural light and old style light bulbs to a charcoal green under florescent lights. I never thought about it till I wore them in a bar that had a flood light on and above a stoop a standard light bulb. So I stood there with my green and brown spotted pants and was completely freaked out so I tried Googling color changing pants and this is the only site that was relevant.
