If I had any skill in painting or illustration, I think I’d love to make a series of ironic art. It would probably be similar to what Gary Larson did with the Far Side; but probably not anywhere as good. :-)
I had a random idea tonight: it would be a picture of a guy who was sitting at a table, drinking milk, and about to read a book. But he’d be crying since he spilled milk all over his new, unread book. The title of the book: “Don’t cry over spilled milk.”
Though given my luck recently, this probably already exists and I just remembered it and figured it was my idea. :-(

Q: Why can’t programmers tell Christmas from Halloween?
A: Because DEC 25 = OCT 31!
Ha ha ha! Oh wait, I’m a dork. :-(

I had another hockey game last night. The good news is that we won! The bad news, as you can probably guess, is that I hurt my back. Again. Last time I hurt my back was just about 3 years ago, when I had a L4/L5 disc herniation. Like last time, there wasn’t anything that triggered the injury. One moment I was fine, the next I was in excruciating pain.
I realized immediately that something was bad and went straight to the bench. I sat out a shift and decided to leave the ice. I was in tons of pain and needed a friend carry my gear to my car. I came home, took lots of Advil, tried stretching (ouch!), and went to bed for a very uncomfortable night of sleep.
Fortunately, I didn’t have work today (yay MLK!), so I used the opportunity to rest and recuperate. Crissy helped me stretch and I laid down for quite a bit; so I’m at least functional now. Though I do look like a pregnant lady when I try to stand up.
Last time this happened, I had severe back spasms and ended up in the emergency room on morphine, valium, and other fun drugs. So this time around, I’m perfectly content with “just” having difficulty standing up and sitting still, and not being to reach down to tie my shoes. :-)
