My business sense tells me this is an attempt to force market segmentation.

My guess is that NBC feared that showing BSG on Hulu the next day was cutting into SciFi channel viewers (and the associated ad revenue), so they pullied this little stunt to shut down critics inside the company who were afraid of lossing money.

By making it an *8* day delay, they are trying to force you into one of three market segments: those that are willing to pay to watch it on cable, those that are willing to pay for it on Amazon Unbox, or lamo category where you'll never be able to catch up with your friends. You wanna watch, you gotta pay the price, dude! Just watching our commercials is no longer enough.

But what sucks the MOST is how cruel it is to make this change in the MIDDLE of the season with NO NOTICE. Hulu spent months training us to think we can always use Hulu to "catch up", and people responded with love. Now our trust has been betrayed. Those of us who skipped recording it Friday night, are now SCREWED. We can NEVER catch up (legally).

Cancel that "BSG Finale Party" you were planning, cause NBC decided to change the rules in the middle of the game.

I'm sure they're saying, "oh, they'll just use Unbox". But I own a Mac; Unbox is not an option. And NBC and Apple's little fight mean's that I have ZERO legal options to catching up with my TV / TiVO friends.

With such respect for their customers, you wonder why people turn to illegal downloads? What idiot makes these decisions?
