I could see this working 2 ways: 1) in a recession there is less acting work, so this would increase the chances that your waitress will be hot; or 2) in a recession, studios are more interested in cheap labor (e.g., no longer paying a lot for a random cameo), which would be a potential confound to this measure (taking away some of the hot waitresses during a recession). Of course, I'm assuming aspiring actors/actresses are hot. Hmm… interesting measure, although there’s another factor at play: many servers are failing actors/actresses.
